OUR VISION

THE BEGINNING

Made on a Mac

Low Country Pathways Foundation, envisions a series of multi-use pathways connecting South Carolina’s Low Country to Georgia. This series of trails, suitable for bicyclists, joggers, equestrians, canoeists, kayakers, and other non-motorized users will link towns, attractions, recreational sites, historic and cultural sites, and the waterways and natural habitats of the Low Country

Low Country Pathways beginnings will start with the Yellow Foot Prints Trail.  The YFPT will honor the many recruits who used the former Charleston and Western Carolina Railway from places all over the Eastern Seaboard who met at Yemassee to eventually make the trek to Parris Island South Carolina to become United States Marines.

Our 2020 Vision will be the centerpiece of the Low Country Pathways Foundation. Our vision is a continuous trail connecting South Carolina to Georgia just south of Charleston to just north of Savannah as part of the East Coast Greenway along various north-south routes including the U.S. Highway 17 corridor, abandoned rail corridors, and historic canal corridors, from which visitors can sample coastal imagery.
